We've recently had to block non-gadget IFrames in order to protect our
users from security risks. We understand this may inconvenience some
of you, but please note that you can still create or use gadgets to
embed external content.
For those of you worried about serving ads on your Site, we are in the
process of fully integrating AdSense into Google Sites.
Finally, we will enable IFrames at some point in the future, once we
can ensure security for all of our users. Thanks for your patience and
understanding.
Awesome. Wish I would have checked here sooner. I went to my site, and
I was like, "GOOGLE!" but I totally understand. Security risks are not
good and you must protect Google's name. Thanks for at least telling
us the rational. *Crosses fingers that iframes come decently soon*

a small flash widget is an integral part of my site, I'm very
disappointed I can't use it as the new site looks better and is easier
to navigate, how long will it be before flash player widgets can be
used?
I just saw your site and the map and iframes are still there. However
in my site the maps are removed.
Please give some details about how to use a google gadget to get
iframe.
There is a map gadget provided by Google but it is not understanding
the map URL and comes out with an error "Request time out"
I haven't gotten your gadget to play the play list yet prac, I'll try
messing with it some more tomorrow.
I replaced the file link with the correct link from the embed code
from youtube, but when updated the page and attempted to view the
video it didn't play at all.
It's really unfortuanate that google did this out of the blue.
Several local companies are going to be visiting our site in a few
days who are potential sponsors for our student program.
Let me try your suggestions though it is a bit complicated for non
HTML people like me.
Why don't Google fix the maps gadget's URL flaw so that my job will be
easy.
I am assuming that no non-google gadgets will work to embed anything
since about December 12. It would certainly be very useful to be able
to embed objects on the Google site.
I hope that the iframes can be implemented soon as it's been quite a
frustration to not be able to show a flash viewer from my http://justin.tv/kq4ym live video channel. Also, I wish they could get the adsense started
soon as well, or let us know a more definite date that it will work on
sites.
For the iframes, maybe a list could be compiled of safe sites that
would be allowed for embedding iframes for example, "justin.tv" which
is one of the largest live video sites now.

Dana,
Any chance we will see multiple calendar ability in sites?
It's so frustrating having to put a million calendars instead of just
one.
I've tried all the hacks, I just want the right way.
Thanks,
Paul

This is a big deal -- as an Amazon associate I can't use the tools
that Amazon provides. Perhaps you could create Google versions of
Amazon gadgets that allow affiliates to embed their affiliate id's.

I noticed on your help pages that the Gadgets are stored on
Googlepages. Isn't this going to cause problems for all those who call
gadgets from there in view of Googlepages imminent demise?
