Hey Han,
I'm an undergrad studying at the States and am from Mainland
I've been here for more than one year and I'm always worried about
speaking and writing. While I'm supposed to learn very fast from other
people's talks as it's more interactive as undergrad and my friends
are mostly English speaking, I still find it didn't turn out that way
cuz first, I have been too busy with my classes so I don't really have
time to hang, or talk to people about what wouldn't help with my
"business", and also, I've also been having problem with listening,
which should be my primary source of learning. Are there any good ways
to improve listening you may think of in my case? I was thinking about
going over scripts of TV episodes and finding the words sounding
unfamiliar to me and then actually watching the episodes with the
words in mind. And after having recognized the way they are used and
pronounced, I would have a better chance of recognizing them when I
hear them in another conversation, which will in turn, helps me become
able to use the words. How does that sound to you?
